I'm not sure how many of you will recognise this lovely creature without being shown a link to the wonderful post it is based on, from Hyperbole and a Half.
My boyfriend mentioned the other week how much he loved this plushie of an Alot, and me, being foolish and having a bit of sewing knowledge, piped up and told him I could make one. And roughly ten hours of pattern drawing, pin stabbing, fur covering sewing I was done! I contacted Alix where we got the original idea and she helped me with a few sketches and points of how to do it. I have to say at first I was a rather worried it would look a bit rubbish but I am so pleased at how it's come out. My boyfriend absolutely loves it too so it was well worth the effort.
So thats my unconventional valentines gift, what's yours?

DeleteThat's just a big pile of genius right there! Oh if only I had the skill to make my boyfriend a giant growlithe or something! Alas my talents stretch to heart shaped brownies and a coat from River Island. Still I could always get practicing for next year ;)
